Happy
After watching the tutorial video I have created a PSD Network. This is allowing me to play around with the textures in Photoshop then very easily apply it to my model in maya by simply saving the psd file then going into maya and selecting update psd networks.
Am ready to texture in Photoshop.
I am now focusing on getting my textures looking good. If i have time then I will definitely re weightpaint and animate. But at this stage I want to get the textures, renders etc finished before I worry about redoing all the stuff that I have already done previously.
Nicky has found a very helpful tutorial online that I am going to watch to help me with textureing in photoshop.

I am going to look on the website CG Textures for some possible textures to use.
My plan for the texture is to be semi similar to my original textures in 1A. I want to keep the wings and spine like pieces a different texture to the rest of him. So my biggest issue is going to be getting those to fade into each other nicely.

Normal Map Complete
Have now normal mapped. The four pieces that are a bit odd in colour are the pieces between his toes so will not be seen anyways. Am very happy with how it looks.
High Poly Model Done
Smoothed Model then added divisions twice. Also scuptured him the the geometry sculpt tool to add in some extra detailing.
He now has 141312 faces.
